Consultancy services for long-term local business development to support the growth of Umnugobi Province have started.

MIRIM Consultant LLC and IRIM, funded by Oyu Tolgoi LLC, have begun collaborating to provide “Consultancy Services for Local Business Development” in Umnugobi Province and partner soums – Khanbogd, Manlai and Bayan-Ovoo from 2024 to 2026. ​

The goal of this consultancy service is to support local communities and diversify the economy of Umnugobi Province. The consulting services will focus on making changes and progress in four key non-mining sectors: ​

1. Development of local SMEs and suppliers,​
2. Supporting local herders’ sustainable livelihoods and income generation, as well as the development of local cooperatives,​
3. Development and activation of local tourism,​
4. Development of local agriculture and animal husbandry.​

The following 12 sets of tasks are being implemented in 2024 within the framework of consulting services.
